Back to the Middle Ages?

Muiden Castle (Muiderslot)A fact that even most Dutch people don't know is, that Holland boasts dozens of medieval castles. About 25 of them still have their original appearance. Fortunately, the majority of the Dutch castles are open to the public. Moreover, there are several palaces that are or used to be inhabited by Dutch royalty; some of them are also open to the public. Most Dutch palaces date from the 16th century and beyond, but  thanks to their splendid interiors and wonderful gardens surrounding them, they are definitely worth a visit!
